REIKI, a Japanese healing modality, is a noninvasive, deeply relaxing, and peace-inducing practice. It stem from the Japanese words “rei” and “ki”, meaning vital life force energy. Its guiding principle is to attune to the recipient's highest and greatest good, ensuring no harm is done. Recent discoveries in Quantum Physics suggest that, at a fundamental level, we are energetic beings- much like smartphones, emitting electromagnetic waves and interacting with the Universe's energetic field around us. We are composed of sound, light, energy and vibration. Physical or psychological trauma can create blockages or imbalances in this energetic body, often manifesting as discomfort, emotional pain or even illness.

Using Energy Resonance Law, a Reiki practitioner facilitates healing by aligning the recipient’s energy with universal energy fields, and harmonizing physical and emotional states. In session, Reiki practitioner gently place their hands on or just above specific areas on the body, corresponding to energy centers (chakras). The energy is believed to flow intuitively to where it is most needed.

Reiki and Trauma Healing

Reiki is particularly effective in trauma recovery because it bypasses the conscious mind, working directly with the body’s energy systems. For trauma survivors, this can help:

Release Emotional Residues:

Unprocessed emotions stored in the body may manifest as physical or energetic blockages. Reiki gently facilitates their release.

Create Safety:

The noninvasive nature of Reiki can be soothing for those who feel unsafe or disconnected from their bodies.

Integrate Healing:

It supports balance across all levels of being, making it a valuable complement to talk therapy and somatic practices

Reiki and Science Support

Growing scientific inquiry suggests tangible  effects in health and well-being, affirming its effect on the parasympathetic nervous system:

Stress Reduction:

Studies show that Reiki significantly reduces stress and promotes relaxation. Participants in Reiki studies often report lower cortisol levels (a stress hormone), reduced anxiety, and improved sleep quality.

Pain Management:

Clinical trials in hospitals have found that Reiki can alleviate chronic pain and improve the quality of life for patients undergoing cancer treatment, surgery, or dealing with autoimmune conditions.
